Fearne Cotton has insisted she is in no rush to get back in shape following their birth of her son Rex six months ago, as she 'doesn't give a crap' what people think about her any more.
The Radio 1 DJ - who returned to presenting her mid-morning show on Monday - told Cosmopolitan magazine she is proud of her body for giving birth.
“I don’t give a crap what people think anymore. Since I had Rex I’m like, wow, I can’t believe my body did that!" she said.
"I’ve got boobs and a bum. I don’t know if it’s all still expanding hip-wise from giving birth, but I’m in no rush to get back into shape. I don’t care if I’m on holiday and my stomach’s hanging out."
She added that having a baby has completely changed her attitude to life, but for the better.
“Having Rex has been a perspective changer and it’s made me look at the industry differently," she said. "I work to live now rather than live to work.
"All those clichéd things have happened – I’m more overwhelmed and full of love than you can ever imagine because I’ve not had it before … my main priority is looking after this little man. And I feel totally over the moon that I’ve been able to do this.”
Six-month-old Rex is Fearne's first child with partner Jesse Wood, who is the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie.
And it may not be too long before we hear wedding bells, as Fearne told the magazine: “I’d love to get married and I’m sure Jesse would too, but we don’t have any plans yet – we’re so hectic with a baby and two other kids [Jesse’s two children Arthur, 11, and Lola, seven], and we’re both working. I think it’s important to feel like a family unit though.”
The pair got together following Fearne's split from ex-fiance Jesse Jenkins in 2011 - something which she has described as the 'rock bottom moment' of her life.
"That felt pretty crap," she admitted. "It was around the time of the royal wedding so there was this big thing about marriage everywhere, but my life was the opposite of that. I thought, ‘Oh, that’s me then. I’m not going to meet anyone now.’ Plus, I’ve always wanted kids so I started to think, ‘Should I adopt one day?’
"What you don’t know at the time is that as one door closes, another opens – and, soon after, I met the love of my life and got to have a baby.”
