Is Nina Dobrev dating "Dancing With the Stars" pro Derek Hough? A new report claims the "Vampire Diaries" starlet is romancing her friend Julianne's brother.


Sources allegedly confirmed to E! News that Nina and Derek have been dating since August, but things are already "somewhat serious" between them.


Apparently, the two met through "Safe Haven" actress Julianne Hough.


"[Nina] was hanging a lot with Derek's sister Julianne," a source told Us Weekly. "Then she fell for him."


"They were set up by Julianne. It got serious really fast and they're inseparable," a source told Life & Style magazine. "They're already saying 'I love you.' Now they're talking about having her go to DWTS to support him."


Rumors of a romance first surfaced back in August in Star magazine, which claimed Julianne set her brother up with her bestie because she's "very protective" over Nina and is "superpicky" about who Derek dates. At the time, a rep for the actress told Gossip Cop the report was not true and that they are "just friends."


Whether or not love has blossomed, Nina is certainly fond of Derek. Although she was unable to make it to the Emmys on Sunday night due to filming, she made sure to offer her congratulations when Derek won the Emmy for Outstanding Choreography for dances he choreographed during "Dancing With the Stars: All Stars."


"@Derekhough !!!!!!!! #EMMYWINNER I cant express in 140 characters how unbelievably excited+incredibly proud I am of you. You deserve this :)," she wrote in an Instagram caption.


"Those of us touched by your light got to watch you brighten up the rest of the world. Keep shining!" she wrote in another.


Nina split from Ian Somerhalder back in May after three years with him, and said she was in "no rush" for a new relatinoship. Derek has dated Shannon Elizabeth, Cheryl Cole and Lauren Conrad.
